Dr. Morton grew up in San Diego and completed his undergraduate studies at Revelle College University of California San Diego. Before pursuing a career in medicine, he fulfilled his dream of flying carrier-based fighter jets and served as a Navy pilot for five years. Dr. Morton then went on to complete medical school and received his MD from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, F. Edward Herbert School of Medicine in Bethesda, MD. While in medical school, he received various awards and recognitions, including the Surgeon General Award for academic excellence, medical professionalism, and leadership skills as well as selection to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, where he was elected as president.
Dr. Morton interned at the Naval Medical Center San Diego, where he also completed his residency in Ophthalmology. While completing his medical internship, he was chosen Intern of the Year. After completing his residency, Dr. Morton was assigned to the Naval Hospital Roosevelt Roads, in Puerto Rico, w
