Beschreibung
Named after the Gaelic word for “journey,” Turas Hospice provides a personalized, patient-centric, end-of-life experience along the journey of patients, their families and caregivers.
Our mission is to protect, honor and create profound meaning for those we serve. We give them control of how they will spend their time together.
Through hospice care and palliative care, which take place wherever a patient calls home, our compassionate and interdisciplinary Journey Care Team follows a broad philosophy that even in the darkest hour…there is light. Led by a medical director, our comprehensive team includes nurses, aides, spiritual advisors, social workers and volunteers. We are here for you 24/7. As an all-inclusive benefit of Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurances, in terms of tangible things, everything needed for the journey should be covered, from medical equipment such as hospital beds or mattresses and wheelchairs, to cost of medications, assistance with hospital discharges and transportation, and assistance with daily living activities. And we tap into state-of-the-art medications for the most effective pain relief and level of comfort.
Our owners have been in the senior care arena for many years and bring a unique perspective to Turas Hospice.
Much of the care is wrapped around the emotional and spiritual needs of the patient. We focus on finding meaning in life, what the afterlife will look like, as well as guide them to consider unresolved issues.
A physician makes the initial referral for hospice and then a nurse assessment is completed to determine hospice eligibility. Guidelines suggest that patients have six months to live, but Medicare will re-evaluate and reassess if patients need to come off hospice then be reintroduced later down the road.
Call Turas Hospice to put compassionate care and understanding at the “heart of your journey.”
